Our local SEO service in Toronto gets your business into Google Maps and local search. We track the calls and form fills it brings in, while your profile, listings and website stay in your name.
What Local SEO Does for a Toronto Business
Local SEO is the work that helps a business appear when people nearby search for what it offers. It covers your Google Business Profile, your listings across the web and the local pages on your website.
Google says local results are based mainly on relevance, distance and prominence. You can’t move closer to every customer, but you can make your profile complete and accurate and build the signals that show you’re established. This work sits alongside the site work on our Website SEO page.
Google’s AI features and AI assistants answer local questions from the same business details. In 2026, BrightLocal studied local answers from Google AI Overviews, AI Mode and ChatGPT about US, UK and Australian businesses. Google Business Profile was the most-cited source, at 28.5% of citations. Google’s AI tools relied on it most, while ChatGPT leaned most on Yelp. Our AI SEO improvements page and our post on Gemini and AEO cover this further.
What Our Local SEO Services Include
Google Business Profile Optimization
We set up or clean up your profile: primary and secondary categories, services, hours, photos, service areas and description. We check every field against Google’s guidelines for representing your business.
Location and Service-Area Pages
We write a page for each neighbourhood or city you serve, covering your services there, local details and a clear way to contact you. Each page targets the searches people in that area make.
Local Listings and Citations
Your business name, address and phone number should match everywhere they appear. We find and fix mismatched listings on directories and map apps, then add you to the relevant ones you’re missing.
Local Schema and Technical Fixes
We add structured data so search engines can read your name, hours and service areas. We also fix the site problems that hold local pages back, such as slow loading or broken links.
Tracking and Monthly Reporting
We track calls, form fills and direction requests, then connect those leads to your CRM. Each month you get a short report on how many enquiries came in and how good they were.

Local SEO for Service-Area Businesses
Many Toronto service businesses have no storefront. A contractor works at the client’s home, and a mobile cleaner or detailer drives from job to job. Google’s guidelines say a business like this should hide its address and list the areas it serves instead.
For a contractor, your home address stays private and your profile shows the areas you serve, from Scarborough to Etobicoke. With no shop on the map, your website does more of the work to bring in leads. Service-area pages help carry that load. MGG’s own Google profile is set up this way, so we’ve worked through these rules on our own listing.
Local SEO Work for Our Clients
A retail store in Port Sydney, Muskoka. We moved its site from Squarespace to WordPress and built location pages for cottage-country towns such as Huntsville. Early results show more organic traffic and higher rankings, and the location pages help drive foot traffic to the store.
A custom home and renovation contractor in Toronto’s east end. We built neighbourhood landing pages and optimized its Google Business Profile, alongside Google Ads and HubSpot lead tracking. Organic traffic rose, and one Google Ads lead closed as a $367,000 project.
You Own Everything We Build
Your Google Business Profile, your listings and your website stay in your name. If you stop working with us, nothing has to be handed back, because it was never ours. We set up D2 Build’s Google Ads the same way, in an account D2 owns.
Local SEO FAQ
What is local SEO?
Local SEO helps nearby customers find your business in the places they look: Google Maps, the local results in Google Search, and AI answers that recommend local businesses. The goal is enquiries from people close enough to become customers.
How long does local SEO take?
Fixes to your profile, listings and schema come first, and Google can pick them up within weeks. Rankings in Maps and local results usually build over several months, depending on your competitors and how established your business is online. We report progress every month and never promise a set ranking by a set date. Why ranking guarantees are a red flag
Do I need a physical address to show up in Google Maps?
You don’t need a storefront. If you travel to your customers, Google’s guidelines say to hide your address and list the areas you serve. Your home address stays private. The address can’t be a P.O. box, a remote mailbox or a virtual office that isn’t staffed during business hours.
What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?
Regular SEO helps your website rank for searches anywhere. Local SEO targets searches tied to a place and adds your Google Business Profile, Maps and listings. Our Website SEO page covers the site side.
How do you measure local SEO results?
We count the actions people take: calls and direction requests from your Google Business Profile, and form fills from your website. Each lead goes into your CRM, so you can see which ones became paying jobs. Your monthly report also shows where you rank in Maps for your main searches.
What can I do about fake or unfair Google reviews?
Reply to every review, good or bad, calmly and briefly. Reviews that break Google’s rules, such as fake ones or ones from a competitor, can be reported to Google for removal. Google won’t remove a review just because it’s negative. And don’t ask only happy customers for reviews: Google doesn’t allow it, so ask every customer.
